Maternity Session

May I present to you the gorgeous Mrs. M. ……

New Friends!

We replaced our dear departed friend with two new friends. I put a different type of Maple in the place of the old one and then added a Birch to the backyard too. I love Birch trees, but they seem to be a touch tree, hopefully this type will be better than the ones I have known in the past. ;) I haven’t taken pictures of them yet, I will post when I do. I just can’t wait for them to get a little bigger and give me back my shade!

I had the pleasure of working with these two at my favorite spot! They both had these beautiful blue eyes, I am so jealous!!

Farewell My Friend…

I love trees and if I could, I would plant one in every square inch of my yard. Well, not every square inch, but you know what I mean. :) They are just so beautiful and green and add so much to any landscape.

When we first moved here 9 years ago, I had not one tree because the development that we live in was built on a farm field. Over the years, I keep have added them here and there and now we have 25 trees on our 1+ acre lot.

I now have to subtract one from that count now. :( This was one of the first trees that I planted after we moved in. I planted two sugar maples in the backyard and they have grown like weeds. I would say that they are about 30-40 feet tall??  Last year we lost a bigger limb on one in a storm and then again a week ago in a storm. When I was cutting the huge branch up, I noticed that there was at least 2 feet of new growth on the ends of it. I just had a feeling that by the end of the summer I was going to lose the whole thing because it is growing to fast to support the huge branches it has.

Well, when the storms came through last night, the very first gust of wind snapped the top off right off. My first tree casualty. I am so sad because I finally had a nice shady spot to sit and play in the sandbox or even swing with Katie. But the tree is broken now and has lost to many limbs making big fractures in the main trunk to be able to support what is left and it has to come down today.

Farewell my friend, you will be greatly missed….. :(

Maternity Session

The beautiful E. came in for a maternity session. She looks fabulous and should be having that little baby soon. Good luck!!

Happy 4th of July!

I ran up to Wayne’s (awesome nursery that is having a sale!) to get some Hostas yesterday and driving up 61, I was going twice as fast as the northbound traffic on the freeway. It was like a mass exodus out of the cities…lol We went to the carnival yesterday and are going to put the pontoon in Green Lake today to watch the fireworks around the lake tonight. Maybe next year we will starting going to the fireworks down by the lake again. I miss going to see the huge displays.

If you are going to be driving out of town or just around town this weekend, be SAFE and have a wonderful holiday weekend!
